Boy there is a stunning new demand out there for remotely being able to access a computer and I suppose that is welcome relief to the tens of millions of us who work in multiple locations!
More and more of us are also working in multiple locations. Gone are the days when we were just doing work at the office…long gone. More than ever in history, people are now working from home on the weekends and at nights and are creating files in those locations that they will then need during the work week.
Take a quick peek out-of-doors and you will notice that there is a white hot category in the software world going on for remote pc access software going on…and I suppose that time is long overdue.
If you look at Google trends, the remote pc access niche is white hot with searches…and it could not be more a sign of the times. As the economy continues to soften, adults are working harder than ever, and are finding excuses to return to the laptops and the desktops after the kids have gone to bed and on the weekends when the other spouse has taken them out.
Being able to access a computer remotely was once only available to the IT crowd who wowed us by being able to take over our laptops from wherever they worked. And now that remote access ability is here for the rest of us.
Imagine being on vacation in Europe and being able to use remote access software to get into your home computer to retrieve Excel files. How about being on a train headed to a major meeting having left a Word doc on your desktop at home?
To the un-technical (myself included) this is very Dick Tracy and very very cool.
I have very definitely put the using of remote pc access software on the very tippy top of my list of things I have to do.
